A long chat extension for Claude

Tvara is a Chrome extension for long Claude conversations. It keeps a long chat responsive, lets you move through it message by message, shows how much of your Claude usage limit is left, and keeps your Claude history on your own computer.

What goes wrong in a long Claude chat

Two things. The page gets heavy: every answer, artifact and code block stays in the document, and past a few hundred turns typing and scrolling start to lag. And the limit arrives sooner: each reply reads the conversation again, so a long chat spends your usage faster than a short one. How much of your limit is left covers the second in detail.

What Tvara adds to Claude

• Speed engine. Messages outside the screen are put to sleep and wake as you scroll back to them. Nothing is deleted.
• Minimap. One mark per message on the right edge, yours and Claude's in different shades. Hover for a preview, click to jump. It also works on Claude Code sessions opened at claude.ai/code.
• Usage limits. Your five-hour session limit and your weekly limit, from Claude's own figures, with the time each one resets. The one that will stop you soonest is shown first. If your login has several organisations, you still see one allowance for your one subscription.
• Chat Card. Hover a chat in Claude's sidebar to see how many messages it holds before you open it.
• Outline, in-chat search and one-click conversation export. Part of Pro on Claude, and included in the seven-day free trial.

If Claude's security check blocks Tvara's background check, the popup says exactly that and how to clear it. It never tells you that you are signed out when you are not.

Your Claude history, kept on your computer

Tvara copies your Claude conversations into a local archive in the background, and keeps your copy if a chat is later deleted on Claude. Exporting the archive is free. Searching every archived chat at once, encrypted backups and Context Bridge are part of Pro: $1 once, on up to five devices.

Private by design

No chat text, title or prompt is sent to Tvara. The only server is the licence issuer, and it never sees a conversation.
